The village Agioi Deka located on the eastern slope of the eponymous mountain whose
original name was The Galision term . The Church of the Holy Ten Martyrs
located in the village gave it its name. After the conquest
Crete by the Arabs in 823 AD left local residents , some of
which came to Corfu.
The settlers they were the first inhabitants of the village ,Agioi Deka . In Crete
specifically in Heraklion 's village of the same name in
which ten witnesses testified during the persecutions of
Emperor Decius .
